Barter Beer + Mall is one of the newer places to add to an Arts District wandering list. The shop at 150 W. Wyoming Ave. brings together vintage goods, records, original art, home decor, collectibles, and small oddities under one roof, with a bar in the same 6,000-square-foot space.

A place to browse slowly
Barter says it works with more than 40 vendors. That means the useful approach is not to arrive looking for one exact thing. Give yourself time to look through the records, art, vintage objects, and one-off pieces. If you see original work you like, ask the vendor who made it and whether photos are welcome.
Why it belongs on LVTC
Tattoo culture does not live only inside tattoo shops. People build a visual vocabulary from record sleeves, old signage, handmade objects, illustration, and the kinds of finds that reward looking twice. A local market is a good place to gather ideas, but an idea is not a license to copy somebody else’s finished work. Bring the feeling, the color, or the story to a tattoo consultation; let the tattoo artist draw something new.
What is happening there
Barter lists recurring Punk Rock Bingo on the first and third Thursdays and Barter Karaoke on the second and fourth Thursdays. Event dates, vendor inventory, bar service, hours, and age rules can change, so check the shop’s current information before heading over.
